How Much to Charge for a Sew-In With Bundles Included

A sew-in with bundles included should be priced as your base install, plus the hair, plus your time sourcing it, plus profit on the hair. On my menu, that's a $355 base install, and $694, $794, and $894 when 2, 3, or 4 bundles are included.
Most stylists price it one of two ways. They add what they paid for the hair to their install price and call it done, or they look at what other stylists charge and land somewhere close. Both leave money on the table.
When the hair is included, you aren't only selling an install. You're selling the hair, the time it takes to source it, the risk of ordering it, and the finished result. Your price has to cover all of it.
Start With Your Base Install
Your base install is the service without hair: the braid down, the install, and the finish. That number should come from your time and your skill, not from the hair.
My base install is $355. Everything else on my sew-in menu builds from there.
Then Price the Hair Into the Service
Here's how my menu looks when the hair is included:
The client isn't choosing between a service and a product. They're choosing a finished look, and the price reflects everything it takes to get there.
What Your Bundle Price Needs to Cover
Before you set your own numbers, make sure each price covers:
If your bundle price only covers what you paid for the hair, you're doing the extra work for free.
Why a Set Menu Works Better Than Custom Quotes
When every sew-in gets a custom quote, every booking turns into a negotiation. A set menu gives clients clear options, makes online booking easier, and keeps you from adjusting your price based on how a conversation feels. The consultation decides how many bundles the look needs. The menu decides the price.
Protect Yourself Before You Order Hair
If the hair is included, collect a deposit that covers it before you order. A client who cancels shouldn't leave you holding hair you paid for.
Remember What Comes After the Install
A sew-in is a higher-value service, and it doesn't end at the install. Maintenance appointments and takedowns are part of the service too, and they should have their own prices on your menu.
